Designing Your System
Zones. Every indoor unit is an independently controlled zone. A single-zone system solves one room; a multi-zone system runs several indoor units - wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, or floor console - from one outdoor unit.
Sizing. Each zone gets its own load calculation. An oversized indoor unit short cycles and dehumidifies poorly; an undersized one runs constantly. This matters more with mini-splits than any other system type, and it is why the design visit matters.
Cold-climate capability. For zones that must heat through an Indiana winter, we spec cold-climate models built to produce heat well below freezing.

2. Zone-by-zone load calculations and a system design with clear pricing.
3. Your approval before anything is scheduled.
4. Installation: mounting indoor units, running refrigerant lines through small wall openings, setting the outdoor unit, and completing electrical connections.
5. Commissioning each zone in heating and cooling modes, plus a remote-control walkthrough.

Mini-Split Installation FAQs
How long does mini-split installation take?
A single-zone system is often installed in a day. Multi-zone systems with several indoor units typically take one to two days, depending on line-set routing and electrical work. Your quote will include a time estimate.
How much wall damage does installation cause?
Very little. Each indoor unit needs roughly a three-inch opening for the refrigerant lines, drain, and wiring, which is covered by the line-set channel. No ductwork, no opened walls.
Single-zone or multi-zone - which do I need?
One problem room calls for a single-zone system. Several rooms - or a whole home without ducts - can run multiple indoor units from one outdoor unit. Multi-zone saves outdoor space and can cost less than separate systems, but sizing each zone correctly matters more.
Will a mini-split heat through an Indiana winter?
Cold-climate mini-splits are designed to heat in below-freezing temperatures and work well in northern Indiana. For spaces that must never drop below temperature, we discuss backup options during design.
Where can indoor units be mounted?
High on a wall is most common, but ceiling-recessed cassettes and low floor-mounted units are also available where wall space is limited. Placement affects comfort and efficiency, so it is part of the design conversation.
